It’s really easy to go on the lemonade diet, or the Master Cleanse as it is called. But the hard part is not starting up this cleanse. No, what’s tough is sticking with it for the full 10 days. I should know. I started it and quit three times before I made it all the way through.

Sure, it’s a bit of a challenge to find all the right ingredients for the juice recipe. If you want to do it right and get the full benefits, you have to use fresh, organic lemons that you squeeze to get the juice. You need to locate organic grade B maple syrup, because of all the healthy nutrients it contains. And then there is the water. It has to be pure, with no chlorine. But it’s only after you start fasting and only living on this lemonade juice mix for day after day that it starts to get to you.

I was not only starving hungry, but I also had body aches and headaches. All of that discomfort coupled with the low blood sugar levels made my as cranky and miserable to live with as anything else I’ve ever done.

But then I got smart. What happened was I learned the secrets to doing the Master cleans the right way. Secrets that took care of the hunger, calmed the mood swings and eased the pain. That’s when the benefits of this detoxifying cleanse really start to show. Because when you actually complete the 10-day detox program, it makes you feel great!

All that sludge that had been building up in your system is flushed away. Then your immune system doesn’t have to always be working so hard, and you can start absorbing more nutrients into your body. No wonder you start feeling so much better.

If only when Burroughs originally wrote his Master cleanser book he had gone the extra mile and told you how to get through it the easy way. How to prepare for it a couple of days before you start. And how to come off the cleanse after day ten without hurting yourself or un-doing all the good you did for yourself. And most importantly, the things you can eat and drink during the program that make you not feel as hungry, and keep your body functioning at the right level.

Fortunately, somebody finally did write that book. It’s called Master Cleanse Secrets, and it has made a huge difference in my life.  That’s why I wanted you to know about it. So you don’t have to go through all the misery I suffered with…

Master cleanse lemonade recipe details

The recipe for the lemonade you drink when you do the 10-day Master Cleanse is very simple to make. Not only that, when you take into consideration the fact you will not be eating at least 30 full meals, doing this detoxifying cleanse will probably save you more than $100.

This is the list of ingredients for one serving (which you drink six times per day):

  • Two tablespoons of juice from an organic lemon (about one-half of a lemon)
  • Two tablespoons of organic grade “B” maple syrup (not ordinary pancake syrup)
  • One-tenth of a teaspoon of powdered cayenne pepper
  • Ten ounces of filtered water (not ordinary bottled water)

Obviously, you should mix up a whole day’s amount of this lemonade juice recipe at once, but avoid the temptation to make more than six servings at a time. This is because the lemon juice needs to be freshly squeezed to give you the full benefit. You can not buy bottled lemon juice. It is not the same thing at all. It is not organic and it has been treated with chemical preservatives.

Even if you get the recipe perfect, if you have not prepared for the cleanse ahead of time, and if you are not doing the recommended exercises or eating some of the special items that help get you through (if you thought you could not eat anything during this fast, you are wrong) then it is going to be so hard that unless you have practically super human will power and the ability to overcome body aches, headaches and starvation cravings, I can practically guarantee that you will not go the whole 10-days. But even more important, you also have to come off of this detox program the right way or you will not get all of its benefits.

During the 10-days of the cleanse, I predict you will be totally amazed (and maybe more than a bit grossed out) at the toxic substances that are being removed from your body. When I saw some of that crud I was so happy that I was no longer carrying it around inside of myself. No wonder you feel better when it is finally removed!

Do you want to know what the biggest difference doing this lemonade cleanse has made for me? I mean there are lots of things: weight loss, more energy, better mental attitude and overall a healthier body. But the greatest thing I feel this has given me is more will power. I simply do not crave junk foods the way I used to do. Instead I have a desire to keep my body healthy by taking better care of myself through a healthier diet.

Surviving the lemonade cleanse diet

It was after I read about the lemonade cleanse diet in a women’s magazine that I decided I would give it a try. I had heard before about the Master Cleanse being used by Hollywood stars and celebrities like Beyonce and Robin Quivers, but I didn’t really put two and two together at first. But it sure sounded good. Not only did you lose weight, but you also became healthier from cleaning old toxins out of your body. It also said you would have more energy and feel younger again.

Well, I went online, found a recipe for the lemonade and started on a 10-day cleanse. Before the third day was done I had to quit. I felt so bad I wanted to die. I had headaches all over my body, I felt like I was starving to death, and I had become such a miserable b*tch, nobody could stand to be around me. The funny thing was, I later found out I lasted longer than most. Most people who try the Master Cleanse quit on Day #1. That’s how hard it can be. Fortunately, I since found out it doesn’t have to be hard.

Now that I have done a couple of full, 10-day cleanses, it’s almost magic how much better I feel. My skin is more clear, my energy level is up, and I don’t have mood swings the way I used to. And what makes this thing so totally different from any other weight loss diet I ever did is that all the weight I lost has stayed off — I’m not gaining it back like before.

You want to know who’s feeling bad about me now? Ben and Jerry. Cause I used to go through at least one of their tubs of ice cream a week. Now it’s weird, but I just don’t have the same cravings for sweet desserts like I used to.

There are a lot of books about the Master Cleanse, but most of them have it totally wrong. For example, if you start getting yourself ready a few days before you start, it really makes the whole process a lot more painless.

The lemonade diet itself is not anything new. The original book by Stanley Burroughs was called The Master Cleanser, and it was written like 30 years ago. And that was the one I was trying to follow that made me feel so sick I had to quit.

Some people worry this cleanse is not safe, but I now realize there are different ways to do it. The way I tried it first could possibly have been damaging to my health if I had gone on with it. But after I learned the better way to do it, I realize that it is totally safe. You just have to get the right directions and follow them.
